Description
William Jenner Autograph Letter Signed. One page, 4.5" x 7"; September 30, 1884. A letter to Dr. Balthazar Foster declining an invitation. "I have to be in London from the 2d to the 4h Oct. but on the 5h shall go into the country late the evening of the 14h & cannot therefore accept your kind invitation." Signed, "W. Jenner."Sir William Jenner, 1st Baronet (1815-1898), was an English physician most noted for discovering the distinction between typhus and typhoid fevers. He served as physician to Queen Victoria.
Condition: Evenly toned, with a ragged margin at left where integral blank was removed. Jenner's name is written in ink at top in an unknown hand. Top right corner has been folded over, but is now flattened.
