Salvador Dali. Les Dîners de Gala. Paris: Draeger, [1973]. First French edition. Inscribed by Dali to New York restaurateur Charles Masson on the white preliminary pages. Also, Dali has drawn in ink a large, loosely-rendered equine figure on the page facing the inscription. On the blank page 322 someone (presumably Masson) has written six lines of notes concerning the book's signing. Quarto. 320 pages. Lavishly illustrated. Pictorial cloth boards. Ornately designed cookbook, from famed surreal gastronome Salvador Dali. Lavishly illustrated with reproductions of Dali's art and with photographs of the recipes.
