was Faulkner's first short story collection and includes many of his most famous stories, namely the frequently anthologized tales "A Rose for Emily" and "That Evening Sun." In a contemporary review of this collection, George Milburn wrote that "William Faulkner is one of the few reasons for believing in the future of American letters."
