Tennessee Williams. The Glass Menagerie. New York: Random House, [1945]. First edition, first printing. Inscribed by Williams on front free endpaper, "For Elizabeth Anne / McMurray / with sincere appreciation / Tennessee Williams / August, 1945". Octavo. 124 pages. Publisher's red cloth with modest wear to extremities and a small area of faint soiling to upper corner of front board. Mild toning to pages with a few tiny spots of scattered foxing to endpapers. Light wear to extremities of jacket with minor foxing to rear panel and a bit of sunning to spine. Included are two typed letters signed by prominent ABAA booksellers to a previous owner attesting to the authenticity of William's inscription and with mailing envelopes. Near fine. A lovely inscribed copy of this high spot in American theater.
