Limited to 100 numbered sets, of which this is number 47. Inscribed by Mrs. Georg Vetlesen (Maude Morell Vetlesen), owner of the collection, to Dr. Harold M. M. Tovell. Three small folio volumes. xxvi, 284; xii, 307; x, 304 pages. Illustrated with 207 photographs (several in color), and other illustrations. Indices.

Original full green morocco. Raised bands to spines. Gilt lettering to spines. Top edges gilt. Green silk doublures with gilt-tooled turn-ins. Minor sunning to the spine of Volume III. A clean, bright set, in very good condition.

The Smithsonian Institution acquired the Vetlesen Jade Collection from the Vetlesen family in 1958. It remains one of the most important jade collections in the U.S.
