Description

Richard Nixon: Signed Copy of His 1973 Inaugural Address. (Washington D.C.: U.S. Government Printing Office, January, 1973), 7 pages, staplebound in wrappers, 5.75" x 7.75". Signed "Richard Nixon" on the front cover. President Nixon delivered his second inaugural address on January 20, 1973, just five days after suspending offensive action in North Vietnam. A week later, on January 27, Nixon announced the end of American involvement in Vietnam with the signing of the Paris Peace Accords. What was surely a successful couple of weeks surrounding Nixon's second inaugural came crashing down later in 1973 when the president's involvement in the Watergate cover-up became public knowledge. The copy of the second inaugural address presented here is in fine condition, with no noticeable flaws. It is housed in a blue display folder with gilt spine titles, which is in turn stored in a beautiful custom quarter leather slipcase with gilt spine lettering, five raised spine bands, and marbled boards.
