The handwritten narrative expresses Emerson's feelings with regard to the teachings of the theologian, Emanuel Swedenborg, particularly with regard to the resurrection. Twelve octavo volumes of the Works; ten octavo volumes of the Journals.
Uniform half morocco over marbled boards. Raised bands. Gilt designs and lettering to spines. Top edges gilt. Marbled endpapers. Spines modestly faded. Page edges mildly toned. A near fine set.
