One of five hundred numbered copies signed by the publisher, of which this is number 9. Quarto. 445 pages. Eight hand-colored plates with numerous reproductions and illustrations. Publisher's green cloth with gilt-stamped titles and ruling to front cover and spine. Shelf wear to extremities with rubbed spine and corners. Some light foxing to a few plates. Armorial bookplate on front pastedown and blindstamp to front free endpaper. A very good copy of a scarce volume by the the famed British Naturalist.Auction Info
