George S. Patton, Jr.: Signed War As I Knew It. (Boston: Houghton Mifflin Company, 1947), 425 pages, red cloth with gilt & black lettering on the spine, 8vo (5.5" x 8.5"), in clear plastic protective sleeve and housed in a red custom quarter leather slipcase with marbled boards and gilt titles & five raised bands on the spine. Illustrated endpapers. A cut signature reading "G S Patton Jr." has been affixed underneath the frontispiece photograph. War As I Knew It is General Patton's first-hand account of his Third Army's dramatic sweep across the battlefields of Europe, and a fascinating exercise in memoir. The book presented here is in about fine condition, with minimal shelf wear and a few very light spots on the boards.
