Description

Franklin D. Roosevelt: Signed Edition of Looking Forward. (New York: The John Day Company, 1933), third printing, 279 pages, blue cloth binding with black lettering on the spine and gilt lettering on the front board, 8vo (5.25" x 7.75"), no dust jacket, clear plastic protective sleeve on boards, housed in a blue quarter leather slipcase with marbled boards and gilt titles & five raised bands on the spine. Signed "Franklin D. Roosevelt" on the front free endpaper. In FDR's own words, in the first sentence of the Introduction, Looking Forward is "essentially a compilation from many articles written and speeches made prior to March 1, 1933." The book is in very good condition, with some rubbing and toning to the corners & edges, and mild toning to the text. The spine is a bit sunned, but it does not detract from the overall appeal of this wonderful Roosevelt signed book.
