This copy is numbered 143 of the English edition. Signed by Arthur Rackham on limitation page. Quarto. 549 pages. Twenty-four color plates, with captioned tissue guards, tipped to green paper. Twelve tinted plates. This copy has a wonderful original signed drawing by Rackham on the half-title page. Rackham has drawn a charming ink and watercolor image taken for the story, The Brothers of Birchington. With two large detailed figures and a background.
Publisher's full vellum with gilt titles and decoration. Top edge gilt with remaining edges untrimmed. Faint rubbing and soiling. Ribbon-tie closure professionally renewed. Title page with three-inch repaired tear beginning at fore-edge and running into right edge of decorative border. Minor toning to pages and some with slightly abraded edges. A near fine copy.
