Publisher's smooth brown cloth over boards with beveled edges, spine lettered and ruled in gilt, front board with facsimile of Einstein's signature stamped in gilt; top edge gilt, others untrimmed. Original slipcase; original glassine dust jacket present but defective. Text partially unopened, with frontispiece portrait of Einstein by Yousef Karsh.

First edition, limited to 760 copies (including ten presentation copies), of which this is number 519, signed by Einstein on the limitation page, "Albert Einstein. 49." One of the cleanest exemplars we have seen of this much sought after title.

Condition: Book near fine; very minor wear to top edges of slipcase. Glassine jacket defective, all panels separated.
