Description

[Walt Disney] Diane Disney Miller (as Told to Pete Martin): The Story of Walt Disney Signed by Both the Author and Walt Disney. (New York: Henry Holt and Company, 1957), first edition, 247 pages, white paper boards shelf-backed in turquoise cloth with black and white lettering on the spine, 8vo (5.5" x 8.5"), dust jacket (in protective Mylar), housed in a gray quarter leather slipcase with marbled boards and gilt titles & five raised bands on the spine. Signed both "Diane Disney Miller" on the front flyleaf and "Walt Disney" on the half-title page, an extraordinarily large Walt Disney signature in blue felt-tip pen. Diane Disney Miller is the only biological child of Walt Disney, and a dedicated philanthropist who has given over $5 million of Disney's vast fortune to charity. She was in her mid-twenties when she sat down with her dad to write this fabulous and insightful biography, which also contains dozens of photographs that, at the time, had never before seen publication. The book is in very good condition, with moderate shelf wear, but the colors of the dust jacket remain vibrant and sharp. The text of the book is surprisingly clean considering its popular subject and its 50-year life span.
