Edition limited to 100 copies, of which this is number 10. Presentation copy, inscribed by the President to his Secretary of Agriculture: "For Claude R. Wickard / with the affectionate regards of / Franklin D. Roosevelt / Christmas / 1943." Small slim quarto. 24 pages. Vellum-backed marble paper boards. Gilt-stamped black leather title label to spine. Top edge gilt. A couple of very faint areas of yellowing to vellum. Laid in is original White House mailing label. In original acetate wrappers. A fine copy in slipcase.

More Information:

From the collection of Claude R. Wickard (1893-1967) who served as Secretary of Agriculture in Roosevelt's cabinet from 1940 to 1945. He resigned the cabinet post in 1945 to head the Rural Electrification Administration, a New Deal agency created by FDR to promote and encourage rural electrification.
