First edition, first state binding. Octavo. Publisher's navy cloth stamped in red; original illustrated dust jacket. Head and tail a touch pushed, minimal edgewear. Endpapers lightly offset, pages toned. Internally clean and tight. Dust jacket unclipped ($2.75); lightly toned, rear panel with traces of soiling, wear along folds with minimal chipping at corner folds, 35 mm closed tear to rear panel with some loss, old tape repairs to verso. Near fine book in very good dust jacket. Currey, page 17 (binding A).

Publisher's red cloth stamped in black, publisher's imprint on spine measuring 2.2 cm across and sheets bulk 1.8 cm across the top; original first state full-color illustrated dust jacket. Minor edgewear, corners bumped and rubbed, faint staining to lower board, head and tail pushed. Erased pencil notations to front endleaves, minor text block edgewear. Internally clean and tight. Dust jacket clipped; chipping at corner folds, creased, soiling to rear panel, closed tears to top of front panel and spine. Near find book in a very good dust jacket. Currey, page 17 (binding A, issue 1, dust jacket state A).
Second Foundation. [New York]: Gnome Press, [1953]. First edition, in second state binding. Octavo. Publisher's mint-green cloth stamped in black; original illustrated dust jacket. Cocked and slightly shaken, corners a touch bumped and rubbed, minor edgewear, faint dampstaining to spine tail. Text block edges toned, lightly foxed; faint offsetting to endpapers, foxing to margins of first and last few leaves. Internally clean. Dust jacket unclipped ($2.75); minor edgewear, some chipping at corner folds, lightly toned with faint foxing along flap edges, traces of soiling to rear panel, a few small closed tears, verso somewhat foxed. Overall, a very good book and jacket. Currey, page 19 (binding B).
From the start, Asimov's compelling tale of new frontiers, futuristic technology, mathematical sociology, and the speculative future of mankind cemented its place in not only the science fiction genre, but history as a whole. In 1966, the series was selected for a Hugo award for "Best All-Time Series," alongside names such as The Lord of the Rings and Heinlein's Future History.
