Description
Edgar Rice Burroughs. Printer's dummy of Tarzan the Invincible. Tarzana: Edgar Rice Burroughs, Inc., [1931].Octavo. Publisher's royal blue cloth stamped in red. Frontispiece by Studley O. Burroughs, Edgar Rice Burroughs' nephew. Illustrated dust jacket, also by Studley O. Burroughs, seemingly married to this copy. With printed text up to and including page 8, the remaining approximately 300 pages blank.
PUBLISHER'S DUMMY COPY. According to Zeuschner (2016), ERB, Inc. requested about 30 "printer's dummies wrapped in the [dust] jacket for news companies and jobbers." While Zeuschner notes that no printer's dummies of this title have been reported in collections, the present copy sold in these rooms, March 15, 2012. This is the only example of a printer's dummy of this title that we can trace.
Condition: Touch of edgewear to binding. Married dust jacket unclipped ($2.00, priced on spine as issued), touch of edgewear, else fine.
