Description
With a Small Drawing
For Burroughs' Son
Edgar Rice Burroughs. Lost on Venus. Tarzana:
Edgar Rice Burroughs, Inc., [1935]. First edition. Presentation
copy, inscribed by Burroughs to his son, on the pictorial
front free endpaper: "Dear Hulbert / This is the guy / who was Lost
/ on Venus / O.B." With an arrow pointing to a spot on the map
where Burroughs has drawn a small picture of a man. "O. B." stands
for "Old Burroughs," a nickname that Burroughs sometime used with
friends and family. Octavo. [318], [1, blank] pages. With five
illustrations inserted throughout. Publisher's full blue cloth,
front board and spine lettered in red, dust jacket. Very minor
occasional rubbing to jacket, faint blue offsetting on verso of
jacket from an old jacket protector, partially visible on the front
of the jacket, cloth spine very lightly sunned, minor rubbing to
binding. Still, a fine copy of this book with an excellent
association. Zeuschner 286.Auction Info
