Presentation copy, inscribed by Burroughs to his son, on the pictorial front free endpaper: "Dear Hulbert / This is the guy / who was Lost / on Venus / O.B." With an arrow pointing to a spot on the map where Burroughs has drawn a small picture of a man. "O. B." stands for "Old Burroughs," a nickname that Burroughs sometime used with friends and family. Octavo. [318], [1, blank] pages. With five illustrations inserted throughout. Publisher's full blue cloth, front board and spine lettered in red, dust jacket. Very minor occasional rubbing to jacket, faint blue offsetting on verso of jacket from an old jacket protector, partially visible on the front of the jacket, cloth spine very lightly sunned, minor rubbing to binding. Still, a fine copy of this book with an excellent association. Zeuschner 286.
