Alfred Bester. The Demolished Man. Chicago: Shasta Publishers, [1953]. First edition, stated. Signed by the author on the front free endpaper recto. Octavo. 250 pages. Publisher's maroon cloth backed in blue cloth, front board stamped in white, spine lettered in gilt. Original illustrated dust jacket designed by Martin Herbstman ($3.00). White endpapers, top edge stained black, other edges trimmed.

Condition: Dust jacket a bit rubbed with mild toning, a few small chips and tears. Internally clean with a few scattered spots to textblock. Fine book in a near fine dust jacket.
