[Edgar Rice Burroughs]. Frank A. Munsey Company Check for the serial rights to "The Beasts of Tarzan." 8 ¼ x 3 3/8 inches; New York; March 4, 1914. Check no. M14 made out to Edgar Rice Burroughs for $2,500.Endorsement reads, "one serial entitled 'The Beasts of Tarzan.'" Inscribed by Burroughs, "pay to Illinois Trust & savings Bank, Edgar Rice Burroughs."
"The Beasts of Tarzan" was published as a 5-part serial in All-Story Cavalier Weekly (May 16 - June 13, 1914).
Condition: Lightly toned, fold creases. Cancellation affecting text, but not signature.
Provenance: From the collection of B.J. Lukes, noted collector and bibliographer of Edgar Rice Burroughs.
