Richard Feynman (1918-1988) was an American theoretical physicist known for his work in quantum mechanics, quantum electrodynamics (QED), and particle physics. He played a key role in developing Feynman diagrams, a revolutionary tool for visualizing particle interactions. During World War II, he contributed to the Manhattan Project, helping to develop the atomic bomb. After the war, he became a professor at Cornell and later at Caltech, where he made groundbreaking contributions to QED, for which he shared the 1965 Nobel Prize in Physics. This lecture series, originally given at Caltech, remains widely used for its systematic and intuitive approach to fundamental principles, making complex physics more accessible.
