Octavo (9.25 x 6.25 inches; 235 x 160 mm.). xvi, 688, [689]-758 (bibliography), [759]-781 (index), [3, blank] pages; text partially unopened; frontispiece portrait of Einstein by Yousef Karsh. Publisher's smooth brown cloth over boards with beveled edges, spine lettered and ruled in gilt, front board with facsimile of Einstein's signature stamped in gilt; top edge gilt, others untrimmed; front free endpaper with printed limitation statement; in the original slipcase. Spine slightly rolled; backstrip very faintly dulled; touch of wear to the spine ends, bottom end of spine slightly pushed. Thin strip of faint reddish discoloration to the top corner of the text block, just beneath the gilt. Slipcase edges worn and just barely starting, some light chipping with minor paper loss, small splash to the backstrip. A near fine copy in a very good slipcase.
