Prayers to the Blessed Virgin Mary with the bookplate
of Edward Duke of Norfolk

[Catholic Church]. Officium Beatæ Mariæ Virginis, Nuper reformatum, & Pii V. Pont. Max. jussu editum. Antuerpiæ: Plantiniana, 1724. Twelvemo. [48], 726, [6] pages. Titles and text in black and red, some engravings in red, sixteen full page engraving, decorated initials and tail-pieces. Full black leather with blind ruled covers, blind rules and four raised bands on spine, no titles, two metal clasps, one broken, upper edge red, other edges gilt, and marbled rear endpapers, lacking front marbled endpapers. Bookplate of Edward Duke of Norfolk with the crest and motto "Sola Virtus Invicta" on front pastedown. The Duke's bookplate is lightly trimmed and pasted over a marbled endpaper remnant. Bookplate of Anne C. Morrel on first free blank page and small ink "M" stamp on lower right corner of title page. Boards rubbed, small divot in front cover, corners bumped, spine rubbed and crazed, minor loss of leather at head of spine, gilt on edges worn, joints starting, front hinge cracked, pages over-opened at Aa1, foxing, occasional soiling, else in very good condition.
