The rare fourth edition of Tyndale's English version of the New Testament with parallel text in Latin by Erasmus. Octavo. Approximately 7 x 4.5 inches. [14], [245] fols. Title-page in facsimile. Lacking leaves [v], I-I2, L, M. Contemporary full calf, boards ruled in blind. Rebacked to style in twentieth-century calf, spine lettered in gilt, hinges starting, some wear to binding. With long tear repaired on leaf S, and with long tear on leaf S4. Leaf Aa chipped at lower corner with some loss. Some soiling occasional ink notes in text, several leaves trimmed a bit short (no apparent loss of the main part of the text; however, they do not appear to be supplied from another copy), some chipping to a few leaves. Still, a good copy of this rare bible, one of the most important books of the English Reformation. Herbert 88. Darlow and Moule 58.
