Medieval Antiphonal Leaf on Vellum with Decorated Borders and Animals. Circa 1600. Krown & Spellman retail: $350. Oblong double-sided manuscript leaf measuring approximately 9 x 13 inches. Cut from a larger antiphonal leaf with full borders in red, yellow & silver on a green background cut to fit the fragment on all sides. The text is in a large Gothic hand. On one side is a bird standing with its beak raised and on the other is a crab. Minor toning and wrinkling, with glue residue on side featuring crab. About very good. From the Krown & Spellman Collection.
