R. Austin Freeman. The Red Thumb Mark. [London]: Collingwood Bros., no date [but 1907]. First edition. Octavo. 232 pages. Frontispiece. Publisher's black cloth stamped in red and white. Rebacked with original spine laid down, amateur color restorations to lettering on upper board and spine, corners bumped, minor edgewear, rubbed. Cream endpapers; light scattered foxing and soiling, hinges repaired, ink ownership to the front pastedown, pencil notations (some effaced). Internally generally clean and tight; light scattered foxing and soiling, text block edges toned with minor wear. Housed in custom clamshell case, half red morocco over black cloth, spine stamped in black. Very good.Auction Info
