Publisher's black cloth, spine and front board lettered in red, publisher's device stamped in red on front board; in a lined, possibly supplied dust jacket. Board edges worn with boards exposed at corners and insect damage to fore-edge; spine ends worn, cloth split at crown with small hole at base of base. Small scuff to fore-edge of text block; endpapers faintly discolored from binding glue; previous owner gift inscription to front endpaper; light marginal browning throughout. Jacket lined with craft paper, bruising to edges of flaps from detaching from, presumably, another copy; front flap with rubber stamp and two pieces of tape; edges worn with some paper loss to crown; rear panel evenly soiled and browned. A good, but still relatively presentable copy. Uncommon in any form of jacket. First stateside appearance of Simon Templar, better known as The Saint. From the KoKo Collection.
