Octavo. [8], 296 pages. Publisher's full black cloth, front and spine lettered in red with publisher's device stamped in red on front. Original illustrated dust jacket. All edges trimmed. Fairly mild shelf wear at extremities of binding; spine ends a bit softened; mild rubbing to boards; cloth starting to wear thin at corners. Normal age toning to edges and interior of text block. A speck or two of soiling at endpapers; a few tiny, marginal spots of soiling toward front of text block. Light rubbing to jacket; small abrasion to front panel; stamp at front flap; flaps clipped. Very nearly fine in a clean, bright jacket. Scarce, particularly in jacket. First appearance of Simon Templar, alias The Saint, in the United States.
