Ca. 1200-1210.
6-1/2" x 9-1/8" leaf, 15-1/2" x 18-5/8" frame.
Single illuminated recto page of a single folio from a 13th century French Psalter in Latin. Psalm 125 "In convertendo Dominus captivitatem Sion" and Psalm 126 "Nisi Dominus ædificaverit domum." The initial "I" is in red with a small dragon's head, on a gold leaf ground, while the initial "N" is in gold leaf on a ground of blue tracery. The rubrics are in blue or gold, with blue or red tracery, and more decoration in blue, red and gold ink at the end of each line of text. Gothic script, black ink, the parchment has been trimmed, and is in good condition, tiny hole in lower right. Framed.
