William Wordsworth. The Poems of William Wordsworth... A New Edition. London: Edward Moxon, 1845.

8vo. Engraved frontispiece portrait by W. Finden after Chantrey's bust; engraved additional title with vignette of Rydal Mount. Contemporary green pebble-grained morocco, with elaborately gilt borders on sides, spine gilt, edges gilt, by Hayday (stamp-signed on front free endpaper).

Later edition. PRESENTATION COPY, INSCRIBED BY WORDSWORTH TO HIS NIECE on the front flyleaf: "To / Katharine Mary Wordsworth / from / her affectionate Uncle / William Wordsworth / 13th April 1847 / Hampstead."

Healey notes this edition presents important revisions of the text. According to note card written in the hand of William Strutz, Wordsworth bibliographer Mark Reed inspected this copy on 9 July 1994, and believes this copy was bound in a publisher's presentation binding, commissioned by Moxon from Hayday. In his bibliography he lists the present copy as Binding #8.

Condition: Joints and corners worn; spine ends and bands rubbed; minor rubbing to sides; front hinge cracked, but holding; some light spotting to endpapers. Some spotting and staining to engraved frontispiece and additional title; tiny closed tear on fore-margin of flyleaf with inscription; a few stray spots.
