FIRST EDITION, with publisher's catalogue dated March 1851 at front (BAL's Printing A, no priority), without a comma after "solitude" on p. 343, line 31. Binding apparently BAL's binding B.

Condition: Slightest rubbing to spine ends and extremities. Light bump to upper corners of text block in the latter half; vertical marginal abrasion on outer margin of p. 149 and some minor chips to upper corners on two leaves (pp. 147/148 and pp. 149/150), else very fine.
