[Harriet Beecher Stowe]. Uncle Tom's Cabin: or, Life Among the Lowly. Serialized in the abolitionist newspaper, The National Era. Washington D. C.: G. Bailey, June 5, 1851- April 1, 1852. Including: volume V, numbers 23-35 and 37-44 (whole numbers 231-252) and volume VI, numbers 45-52 (whole numbers 253-274). The very first appearance of this landmark novel in print. The novel is complete. Each part is a printed folio newsprint broadsheet, measuring approximately 26.5 x 37.75 inches. Folded with horizontal and vertical creases. Some wear to edges and folds, some small holes at some folds. A near fine copy of this rare version of Uncle Tom's Cabin, the first parts of this novel preceding the first book edition by almost a year. The parts are chemised and housed in two quarter blue morocco slipcases.
