[Gustave Doré, illustrator]. Edgar Allan Poe. The Raven. With comment by Edmund C. Stedman. New York: Harper & Brothers, 1884. First American edition. Large folio. Wood-engraved title vignette after Vedder and twenty-six wood-engraved plates after drawings by Doré. Original gray cloth decoratively stamped with an angel design in purple and gilt, brown endpapers, all edges gilt. Wear and bumping to corners, spine starting at joints and with small tears. Front free endpaper all but detached. Still, a very good, attractive copy of Doré's last book.
