Richard Harding Davis. In the Fog. New York: R. H. Russell, 1901. First edition, inscribed by the author to Augustus Thomas. Octavo. 155, [1, blank] pages. Fifteen illustrated plates. Original dark blue cloth, spine lettered and stamped in gilt, title label affixed to front board, fore-edge and tail edge untrimmed. Board edges and joints rubbed with some wear, corners bumped, spine slightly leaning. Text block a bit cockled, edges lightly toned, hinges cracked, closed tear along gutter of front free endpaper, occasional soiling and thumbprints on outer margins of pages, plate verso faintly foxed, plate facing page 14 detached and laid-in. A good, sound copy. From the collection of Donald Kaufmann.
