John Steinbeck. The Long Valley. New York: The Viking Press, 1938.8vo. Publisher's terra cotta and beige buckram cloth, spine and rear board stamped in brown; original illustrated dust jacket.
FIRST EDITION. PRESENTATION COPY, INSCRIBED BY THE AUTHOR on the front free endpaper: "For Peter Boering? / John Steinbeck / Monterey '38."
Condition: Spine and edges a bit sunned; bookplate on front pastedown. Dust jacket unclipped (priced "2.50"), spine sunned; jacket toned; some wear along folds; a few scuffs; some edgewear with a few chips and short tears.
