FIRST EDITION. PRESENTATION COPY, INSCRIBED BY THE AUTHOR TO NOTED BOSTON THEATER CRITIC ELLIOT NORTON on the front free endpaper: "For Elliot Norton / in sincere gratitude / John Steinbeck."

Condition: Spine slightly leaned with minor wear. Dust jacket unclipped (priced "$2.50"), some scuffs and wear; worn along folds; some edgewear with a few minor chips and short tears.
