FIRST EDITION. PRESENTATION COPY OF RANSOM'S FIRST PUBLISHED BOOK, INSCRIBED TO FELLOW POET MERRILL MOORE on the front free endpaper: "February 20, 1923. / Cordially, to my friend / Merrill Moore, Poet / John C. Ransom."
Condition: Skillfully rebacked with portions of the original spine laid-down; minor edgewear. Light offsetting along gutter margins. Dust jacket unclipped (priced "$1.25 net" on spine), spine panel skillfully repaired with lower third of spine supplied; repairs along folds with small areas at fold ends supplied; professionally backed on verso; scattered soiling.
