8vo. Publisher's original blue paper wrappers printed in white, bound-in to a custom binding of full blue crushed morocco with five raised bands, spine stamped in gilt, inner dentelles with a double-gilt rule, by Sangorski & Sutcliffe, London, England (stamp-signed in gilt). With a custom slipcase of blue cloth, edged in matching blue crushed morocco.

FIRST EDITION, number 388 of 750 copies on handmade paper, from a total edition of 1,000. Recorded by Sylvia Beach in her Ulysses notebook as purchased by one "Brian Rhys" on February 18, [1922] for 150 Francs. Rhys appears to have lived and worked in Paris, translating French texts into English.

Condition: Spine unevenly but mildly sunned, some sunning to front and rear boards, mild edgewear. Original front and rear wrappers bound-in, bright and with only mild toning to margins, some minor edgewear. Textblock somewhat toned, first leaf following front wrapper reinforced in the gutter margin, a few early leaves with minor losses skillfully repaired.
