Warburg, 1949.16mo. Publisher's original plain blue paper wrappers, titled in blue ink on the front wrapper "1984" and noted as an "uncorrected proof."
ADVANCE UNCORRECTED PROOF OF THE FIRST EDITION.
In this uncorrected proof the title-page reads numerically as "1984," however, when the book was published the title became "Nineteen Eighty-Four." In this proof copy only the half-title has the title printed in full as "Nineteen Eighty-Four."
Condition: Some toning to wrappers, minor edgewear, stain to spine. Ink notation to inside rear wrapper, a few scattered stains to text block.
