8vo. Publisher's smooth black cloth, gold paper labels lettered and ruled in black. Original color printed dust jacket. Quarter morocco slipcase, cloth chemise.

FIRST EDITION, PRESENTATION COPY. INSCRIBED BY HEMINGWAY on the front free endpaper: "For Paul Zuckerman / Best always / Ernest Hemingway."

Paul Zuckerman, father of screenwriter and actor Buck Henry (born Henry Zuckerman), was, as his son recalled in a profile in the Dartmouth Alumni Magazine, "a Wall Street stockbroker who palled around with Ernest Hemingway and counted Humphrey Bogart and Lauren Bacall as close friends."

Condition: A few minor scuffs to cloth, small stain to fore-edge. Dust jacket unclipped ($2.00), somewhat toned, particularly to flaps, a few minor chips and other edgewear.
