Description

In the Scarce, Unrestored Dust Jacket

Ernest Hemingway. The Torrents of Spring. New York: Charles Scribner's Sons, 1926. First edition. Octavo. [viii], [1]-143 pages. Publisher's smooth dark green cloth with red titles stamped on the front cover and spine. Original pictorial dust jacket printed in orange, black, and tan, with the front cover drawing by "M. F." depicting a lunch counter scene. Light rubbing and a few instances of soiling to the boards. Top, rear corner bumped. Small area at the top edge of each board bumped. Small bump to spine head. Almost imperceptible nick to the top edge of the first three leaves. Faint binding glue offsetting to endpapers, otherwise a very clean text. Some rubbing and noticeable dust-soiling to the panels and spine of the dust jacket. Very minimal nicks to the fold ends, with a tiny area of loss to the top edge of the front flap. Small areas of biopredation to the top fold ends, most noticeable at the spine head, where it affects some letters in the title. A very good copy in a handsome example of the original dust jacket. Hanneman A4a.
