More Information: The Escaped Cock was privately published for subscribers only by Harry and Careese Crosby, printed on Holland Van Gelder Zonen. With color illustration by the author used as the frontispiece. White paper wrappers printed in red and black on the front cover and spine. Top edge trimmed, bottom and fore edge roughly trimmed. A bright copy in the original glassine wraps and housed in the original marbled paper covered slip case. The slipcase has been reinforced along the edges with clear tape and is worn along the extremities, otherwise it is in very good condition. [and:] The Man Who Died was published from new plates without illustrations.  Black cloth with blind stamped Lawrence design of the Phoenix on the front board and Borzoi logo stamped on the lower right side of the rear board. With Knopf light green slip tipped in on the front free endpaper: "This book will be published/ May 8, $1.75/ Please do not release reviews/ until the above date." Fine condition.
