Beautiful Original Illustrations by Will Vawter
[Will Vawter, Two Original Illustrations]. James Whitcomb Riley. The Flying Islands of the Night. Indianapolis: Bobbs-Merrill, [1913]. Later edition. Quarto. 124 pages. Illustrated with 16 color plates by Franklin Booth, each with descriptive tissue guard. Additionally, Will Vawter has provided two wonderful original illustrations. A pair of dancing Gnomes done in watercolors on the recto of frontispiece and a grasshopper done in pin and ink on dedication page. Publisher's binding with minor rubbing and darkening to extremities, and with abrading to corners. Inscription on front free endpaper. Front hinge cracking at title page. Faint soiling to rear pastedown. Very good.Auction Info
