John James Audubon (1785-1851). Lot of Six Geese Plates From the First Octavo Edition of Birds of America. Approximately Each 10.25" x 6.5" and 6.5" x 10.25". Drawn from nature by J. J. Audubon, printed and hand-colored by J. T. Bowen, Philadelphia. Includes the Canada Goose, Plate 376, O'Cutchins's Goose, Plate 377, Barnacle Goose, Plate 378, Brant Goose, Plate 379, White-Fronted Goose, Plate 380 and Snow Goose, Plate 381. From the first octavo edition of Birds of America published from 1840 to 1844.

Condition: Light toning; bound edges uneven as a result of removal, light offsetting from text on some examples, otherwise the colors remain bright. From the A.D. Andrews Collection of Southern and Natural History
