Frank Herbert. Dune. Philadelphia, New York: Chilton Books, [1965]. First edition, first printing, in first issue dust jacket. Octavo. xxvi, 412, [413-414] pages. Publisher's light blue cloth, spine lettered in white; original illustrated dust jacket. Ex-library copy.Condition: Skewed, corners bumped and rubbed, minor edgewear, sprung, spine sunned, head and foot of spine pushed and worn with some losses, rubbed and soiled. Gray patterned endpapers; hinges weak and reinforced with archival tape, several white paint-like marks to the front endpapers, rear free endpaper supplied in facsimile, ink stamp to page [414]. Internally generally clean; somewhat shaken, library ink stamp and faint pencil notations to the copyright page and dedication page, light scattered foxing, text block edges with minor wear and soiling. Dust jacket unclipped ($5.95); a few mm trimmed from the bottom edge, moderate edgewear with several small closed tears, chipping to head and foot of spine and corners, 1.5 cm closed tear to foot of spine, library stickers to foot of spine and offsetting from previous sticker on the back panel, creased along folds and spine, somewhat rubbed and soiled, pencil notation to the front flap, edges and corners reinforced with cellotape, recto and verso. Very good book and good dust jacket.
