[Fore-edge Painting]. Samuel Rogers. Poems. London: Edward Moxon, 1851. A New Edition. With a fore-edge painting of a bucolic scene. Illustrated with numerous in text engravings. Bound in full brown morocco, elaborately decorated gilt boards, five raised spine bands with gilt titles and extra gilt in compartments, all edges gilt, gilt board edges, and gilt inner dentelles. Binding rubbed at extremities, boards lightly bowed. Front inner hinge starting, ink inscriptions and paper lifts on front free endpaper, small book seller's label and a pencil inscription "Holland House" on verso of front free endpaper. Foxing throughout with occasional minor soiling. Very good.
