Neill, pictorial boards, pictorial endpapers, 8vo (7" x 9.5"), "This Book Belongs To" page with penciled child's name, penciled child's name and inked ownership stamp facing half title page, penciled child's marginalia on rear endpaper, pages toned as usual, front and rear internal hinges cracked but text block tight, pages 259 through 261 with fold creases, soiling and moderate shelf wear to boards, corners bumped, spine ends frayed, dent in edge of rear board, else a good copy of the scarce first issue of Baum's classic.
