Small octavo. iv, 128 pages. Full green cloth, with embossed decorations and gilt lettering. Yellow-green endpapers. Binding scuffed with dampstaining on rear board. Extremities bumped; spine faded. With penciled signature "Percy Fawckner" on flyleaf.

Edited by a Friend of the Captain, who writes in his Preface: "The following pages contain the Narrative of Captain James Fawckner's sufferings and sojourn among the tribes of Western Africa, in 1825."
