More Information:

Publisher W. Jennings Demorest offered this slim volume containing Poe's most popular work as a premium to subscribers of two of his magazines, Demorest's Monthly (1866-1877) and Demorest's Young America (1866-1875). This edition unknown to Blanck, but BAL 16216 lists an unseen "first separate edition" as being published in Glasgow in 1869 as a special issue, printed on lilac-tinted paper, possibly as a special edition for the blind. Rare.
