Charles Kingsley. The Heroes, or Greek Fairy Tales for my Children. London: Philip Lee Warner, 1912. One of twelve copies printed on vellum, of which this is number nine. Quarto. Illustrated with twelve mounted coloured plates by William Russell Flint with captioned tissue guards bound in at the end. Publisher's limp vellum with gilt front and spine titles. Green silk ties and top edge gilt. Covers have light discoloration and one tie missing. Light foxing to page edges and light toning to plates. Bookplate to front pastedown. Printed by The Riccardi Press. Very good copy of a beautifully executed book.Auction Info
