Some rubbing to the covers and jacket, very light bumping to the corners and edges of the spine, sunned jacket spine, some tiny closed tears to the head and foot of the jacket spine and top edge of the jacket. Altogether a very good copy. Ray Cummings (1887 - 1957) was the assistant and technical writer for Thomas Edison prior to becoming one of the first and most prolific authors in the Science Fiction pulp genre. This work is set in the year 2070 and explores our future relationships with other planets and what lies beneath the surface of the Moon. The McClurg acorn device is featured on the copyright page. [and:] The Shadow Girl. London: Gerald G. Swan, [1946]. First published in 1946. Octavo. 186 pages. Publisher's light green cloth covers with the front cover and spine lettered in gilt. Illustrated dust jacket. A small dent to the bottom of the back cover, some rubbing to the jacket, slightly sunned spine. Altogether a very good copy. A beautiful girl traveling upon a time machine tower is the central focus of this adventure filled story.
